The
birth of the AC Cobra began with the Weller brothers in Britain in 1901,
and they later became Autocarriers Ltd. (AC) in 1909. The AC Ace began
production in 1953, but ended in 1961 when AC lost access to the Bristol
engine. AC was then approached by Carroll Shelby to use a Ford V8 in the
Ace chassis, thus producing the AC Cobra.
Auckland
Cobra was founded by Rex Garland 20 years ago. It all started because
of his love for the original AC Cobra. Rex believed that replicas on the
market at the time did not accurately portray the original AC Cobra. He
therefore decided, with the help of friends, to build a better version
himself. |
